Couples barges with superior speed.

Riptide Ratchets revolutionize critical marine coupling operations. Designed for building, attaching, and breaking down barge tows, Riptide delivers superior speed and the ability to achieve significantly higher tension than traditional ratchets. Its innovative handle acts as a reaction bar, ensuring the connection holds tension longer for enhanced safety and efficiency through locks and open water.

The Revolutionizing River Transportation Tool

Riptide Ratchets drastically improve the process of coupling barges (building a tow), attaching the tow to the tug, and securely splitting the tow for lock transitions. Achieve maximum connection security faster with Riptide's superior speed and ability to attain higher tension. The unique reaction bar handle is designed to hold that tension longer, minimizing adjustments and maximizing efficiency on every haul.

The present process of break coupling takes approximately 45 minutes to release and another 45 to reattach once through the lock. We bring the break coupling process down from 45 minutes to 15 or 1.5 hours, down to 30 minutes for a full detach/reattach cycle. This can save a typical tug an hour per day traversing the Mississippi, saving not only time but also money.
